VIDEO ART FESTIVAL

For ten days during the LOOP FESTIVAL, the center of Barcelona becomes a huge video art showcase. LOOP FESTIVAL brings together a hundred of places showing video art in the city (from museums to shops) and many different agents involved in the sector: artists, curators, schools, institutions, art centers.

Del 12 al 22 de Mayo podremos disfrutar del Festival  + Feria + Foro de debate sobre el video arte contemporaneo en la ciudad de Barcelona. Lo genial de este festival, a parte de ser gratuito, es que cuenta con la colaboración no solo de museos y galerias de arte de la ciudad, pero también de bares, restaurantes y tiendas que se implican en el proyecto de LOOP, conviertiendo Barcelona en una gran escaparte de vdoart.

This is your chance to check out more that 50 pieces of art scatered around the city, gallery hopping you'll meet the latest creation of Bill Viola or the local young artist presentations, together with conferences, free shows and a chance to buy and meet the artist if you fancy investing in art.

This year BAFF had a surprise for all of us. ANIME! For all of us who are fascinated by manga, Miyazaki or Takeshi Murakami we have had a blast. Arigatoo baff, for giving us the chance to see " one World", " Summer Wars" and the hilarious Korean " Samurai Coffee". This bet for animated films has set a precedent in the Festival and I am absolutlly sure next year they will have an ever wider selection.

Como cada año el Barcelona Asian Film Festival nos ha traido lo mejor del cine asiatico durante 1o dias. Este año con especial atención al cine emergente de Korea del Sur y Malaysia, pero quien  se ha llevado el Durian de Oro, premio dotado de 6000 eurazos?

La ganadora Au Revoir Taipei, comedia romaticona colorista de chico- encuentra chica que se lo pasan bomba con los gangsters durante una noche en Taipei.

Els Pets, gran banda de rock "agricola" catalán, nacieron la noche de navidad de 1985 en Constantí, un pequeño pueblo de Tarragona donde eran conocidos por " Condons adulterats". Su frescura e incondicional público les llevo a editar su primer disco " Calla i Balla" del que vendieron 45.000 copias en 1991.

De ahi empezaron a arrasar y sumarse al primer carro de auge de rock catalan que hubo en los noventa con temazos que han marcado la vida adolescente de quien escribe. No estaban solos en el panorama musical, les acompañaba entonces Sopa de Cabra, Ja t'ho diré, Lax n' Busto, Sau y demás dinosaurios, de los que hoy, apenas quedan vivos. Pero Els Pets, se han sabido adaptar, y con esta segunda ola de musica catalana que estamos disfrutando ( Manel, Amics de les Arts, The New Ramons, Mishima..) presentan su último single    " Per veure't a tu" con una Gran frase que define nuestros tiempos:
